This issue is clarified in the regulation "On the procedure for awarding talented graduates of general secondary educational institutions and academic lyceums with gold and silver medals" approved by the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 154 dated February 22, 2019. stated.

According to this regulation, the awarding of gold and silver medals does not provide graduates with various benefits or facilities for entering higher education institutions. That is, even if graduates are awarded medals, they will have to pass tests and admission processes based on general requirements for admission to a university or institute.

Gold and silver medals are awarded to students with excellent grades, exemplary behavior and active participation in public affairs.

The main purpose of these medals is to make students interested in education, to create healthy competition among them, to prevent corruption and to encourage the knowledge of talented students. In this way, it is intended to increase students' interest in knowledge and pay attention to their educational and social activity during the educational process.
