According to the presidential decree, starting from the 2025/2026 academic year, admission to the correspondence form of education will be discontinued. This means no one will be admitted to correspondence studies this year.

In accordance with this decree, admission quotas for alternative forms of education other than full-time studies will be gradually increased to replace correspondence programs.

According to lawyer Khushnudbek Khudoyberdiyev, this alternative form of education is likely to be primarily distance learning.

Teaching in an optimized part-time form of education (part-time education) will also be permitted.

Universities are not allowed to set the total admission quota for alternative forms of education higher than 50 percent of the admission quota for full-time education.

Alternative forms of education will also be permitted at the master's level. Previously, only full-time studies were allowed. Now, for example, it will be possible to pursue a master's degree through distance learning.
