According to the Statistics Agency, at the beginning of the 2024-2025 academic year, the total number of teachers (excluding part-time) teaching in general secondary education organizations in our country amounted to 564.9 thousand people.

   This indicator increased by 78.3 thousand people compared to the beginning of the 2019-2020 academic year. The number of teachers (excluding part-time) teaching in general secondary education organizations by year is as follows:

• 486.6 thousand people at the beginning of the 2019-2020 academic year;
• 508.2 thousand people at the beginning of the 2020-2021 academic year;
• 510.0 thousand people at the beginning of the 2021-2022 academic year;
• 521.6 thousand people at the beginning of the 2022-2023 academic year;
• 547.7 thousand people at the beginning of the 2023-2024 academic year;
• 564.9 thousand people at the beginning of the 2024-2025 academic year.

For reference: at the beginning of the 2024-2025 academic year, the number of operating general education institutions was 10,943.
