On February 25, the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, Kongratbay Sharipov, held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Uzbekistan, Tamer Fathi Abdussalom Hammad.
At the meeting, issues of expanding cooperation between the two countries in the field of higher education, science, and innovation were discussed. To date, more than 10 cooperation agreements have been signed between higher educational institutions of Uzbekistan and Egypt, and it is planned to further increase this figure.
It was noted that within the framework of cooperation with Egypt, opportunities for advanced training of Arabic language teachers in higher educational institutions of Uzbekistan and the attraction of highly qualified specialists from Egypt have been established. Also, during the past period, a delegation of the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies visited Egypt and reached agreements on intensifying cooperation with a number of higher educational institutions.
At the meeting, it was also noted that a joint Working Group consisting of leading universities and specialists of the two countries has been created to strengthen cooperation in higher education and science. The first meeting of this group is planned to be held online in April.
It was noted that the higher education system of Uzbekistan is increasing its authority in the international arena. In particular, as of 2025, 23 universities of our country entered the ranking of the best universities in Asia. Therefore, in order to familiarize Egyptian youth with the educational opportunities in Uzbekistan, a special educational exhibition is planned to be held in May 2025.
