Articles 03/12/2024 Teacher who has no lessons on Saturday, can't she go to school?

The weekly workload of teachers is set at 36 hours. That is, Saturday is also officially considered a working day. Although lessons in elementary school are scheduled in a 5-day mode, this does not affect the work of elementary school teachers.

According to Article 184 of the Labor Code, the length of working time for medical workers, teachers and other categories of employees whose work is associated with a high level of mental, mental and nervous tension, that is, it is determined as not more than thirty-six hours per week.

Accordingly, the weekly working hours for all teaching staff do not exceed 36 hours, while the legislator establishes this norm for 1 rate.

At the same time, according to paragraph 4 of the Instruction on the procedure for forming a model annual work plan for pedagogical specialties of general secondary educational institutions (registration number 3058), the annual workload of a teacher of a general secondary educational institution is calculated as follows:

By multiplying the weekly workload by a factor of 1 in the amount of one rate established for grades 1-4, i.e.:

18x1=18+18=36x4.3 (week) =154.8x43 (week) =1548 hours;

By multiplying the weekly workload by a coefficient of 0.8 in the amount of one rate established for grades 5-11, i.e.:

20x0.8=16+20=36x4.3 (week) =154.8x43 (week) =1548 hours.

It should be noted that the above norm applies only to full-time employees. If you have 28 hours, you should work more than that (50 hours) rather than 36 hours a week.

As schools currently have a full 6-day workweek, teachers need to go to work and complete their pedagogical workload, even if there is no lesson on Saturday.
