Uzbekistan and Poland plan to expand cooperation in higher education and science. The Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation reported this in an official statement.
Currently, 28 Uzbek higher education institutions cooperate with about 40 Polish universities and research-education institutions under more than 70 agreements and memoranda. These ties also develop within international programs such as Erasmus+.
The meeting discussed expanding joint educational programs in engineering, information technology, agriculture, medicine and economics. Attention was also paid to developing the practice of awarding double diplomas and aligning curricula.
Plans include expanding the exchange of students and faculty and strengthening information sharing on Polish government scholarship programs. The parties also discussed more educational and research internship opportunities for Uzbek youth and scientists.
In the field of research, the sides discussed greater participation of universities and scientific organizations in Erasmus+ and Horizon Europe, as well as launching joint research projects and academic internships.
In conclusion, participants stressed the importance of consistently implementing earlier agreements and developing concrete cooperation plans. If these plans are carried out, new educational opportunities could open up for young people.
