President Shavkat Mirziyoyev attended the opening ceremony of the Presidential Olympiad, which is being held for the second time. The head of state congratulated young athletes, coaches and sports enthusiasts on the start of the competition.

Addressing the young athletes, he said that championship titles are achieved through strong will and iron discipline. He also noted that this is the essence of the “O‘z” idea being promoted.

How will the prizes change?

To further support young people, cash prizes for Presidential Olympiad winners and medalists will be increased 2.5 times starting next year. Under the new rules:

• first place winners will receive 25 million soums;
• second place will receive 12 million soums;
• third place will receive 6 million soums.

Admission without exams

School graduates who win the Olympiad and break an Uzbekistan record will be admitted to sports programs at universities without entrance exams, on a state grant basis. For talented young athletes, this opens a path to both education and professional growth.
