Erkinjon Turdimov, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Preschool and School Education, has announced that summoning school directors to meetings without the ministry's approval is strictly prohibited. He made the statement at a meeting with education sector representatives in Samarkand. The information was reported by the Samarkand live Telegram channel.
According to the minister, school leaders should spend their time not on countless meetings but on their direct duties related to the content of education. He noted that schools are responsible for teaching, while kindergartens are responsible for upbringing. If a meeting on economic matters is needed, the deputy head for administrative and economic affairs should attend.
Turdimov stressed that this ban must be followed without exception, regardless of who issues the invitation.
The minister also supported reviewing the licensing procedure for non-state schools and kindergartens. In his view, if a facility has passed inspections and received permits from the relevant authorities, it raises questions why the ministry should issue a separate license.
A dedicated electronic platform for education institutions' appeals is also planned. The Samarkand regional construction department was criticized: its head reported 522 problematic construction document issues in the region, 5 of which concern private educational institutions.
The minister said that no new laws or innovations are needed to improve the system. The main task, he said, is to establish discipline and raise demands.
