Presidential Decree "On the establishment of Karshi State Technical University" (No. PP-428 dated 10.12.2024)

According to the decision, the Karshi State Technical University will be established on the basis of the Karshi Engineering and Economic Institute, the Karshi Institute of Irrigation and Agrotechnologies, the Karshi branch of the Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi and the Shakhrisabz branch of the Tashkent Chemical-Technological Institute.

One of the main tasks of the university is the training, retraining and advanced training of personnel in the fields of engineering, geology, production, construction, transport, energy, information technologies and programming, services, as well as irrigation systems and agricultural technologies.

From the 2025/2026 academic year:

- the weight of personnel training in the fields of renewable energy sources, ecology and environmental protection and environmental engineering will be increased;

- a system will be introduced to assess the indicators of students' mastery of subjects and the effectiveness of the activities of professors and teachers based on international standards;

- A Center for Educational Services will be established, which will provide all necessary services to students on organizational and legal issues arising during their studies based on the principle of "one window";

- special groups are organized for gifted students, where lessons are taught in foreign languages.

All students studying in the aforementioned universities will continue their studies at the University, and from the 2024/2025 academic year, graduate students will be awarded a university diploma.
