Reports circulated on social media about the possibility of introducing a single "student uniform" for all university and institute students. The Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation commented on this information.
We inform you that this information does not correspond to reality and is misinterpreted.
In fact, the document on which the disseminated message is based is the "Regulation on the Creation of a Brand of a Higher Educational Institution," attached to the draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers under discussion, which is intended to serve the formation of a brand and image concept reflecting the specifics of each higher educational institution. The draft Regulation does not contain any norms on the introduction or mandatory requirement of a uniform for students.
On the contrary, higher educational institutions have the right to develop their own corporate styles and symbols, based on their history, function, cultural values, and territorial characteristics. This should be considered as an initiative aimed at forming the individual image of educational organizations. At the same time, recommendations regarding aesthetics, hygiene, or appearance are only voluntary, and the practical aspects of their implementation or application depend on the internal decisions of each educational institution. That is, the introduction of a special uniform or its mandatory requirement within the framework of this draft Regulation is not provided for at all.
At the same time, the initiative to form corporate style and brand elements (logo, color scheme, etc.) serves to effectively promote universities not only locally, but also internationally, increasing their competitiveness and strengthening their prestige. Such an approach is also considered an important part of the marketing strategy of educational institutions in world practice.
In higher educational institutions, the freedoms and rights of every student as a person are protected in accordance with the Constitution and current legislation. The Ministry calls for responsible coverage of all information sources and recommends acting based on official data, the Ministry's statement said.
