General information
The Konrad-Adenauer Foundation (KAS) provides grants for international master's and doctoral students to study and conduct research at German universities. You can view the special poster here.
All international students wishing to study economics, social sciences, history and journalism, or related fields are eligible to apply. The program offers grant recipients financial and moral support, personal assistance, high-level seminar programs, and access to the KAS network worldwide.
Additionally, over 180 interesting seminars featuring 3000 scientists from around the world are planned during the program.

Eligibility criteria
Must have or be completing a bachelor's degree and be no older than 30 years at the time of application;
Grades must be above average;
Good knowledge of German language (B2 level);
Active involvement in volunteer work;
Planning to study at a German university for at least three semesters;
Sufficient general knowledge and particular interest in political issues;
Comprehensive understanding of democracy and human rights;
Be enthusiastic and able to persuade people about life goals.

Benefits
Master's students receive a monthly stipend of €992; doctoral students receive €1,400 per month;
Research conducted in Germany for at least three semesters will also be funded;
€120 per month for health insurance;
If living in Germany with a spouse for three months, an additional family allowance of €450 per month is provided. If living with children, a separate family allowance of €194 is given (this requires submitting an official German translation of the child's birth certificate and waiving the right to state child benefits).
Application process
Required documents for application:
For Master's degree:
Complete the appropriate application form and attach the following documents:
CV (in tabular format) and two photos;
Motivation letter (outlining study objectives and future plans);
Translated copy of the diploma in English or German;
Document confirming German language proficiency (B2);
Admission letter from the German university;
2 academic recommendations. These letters should provide information about the candidate's academic qualifications and potential (written within the last two months). The author must be a university professor or hold a doctoral degree.
For PhD:
Complete the appropriate application form and attach the following documents:
Detailed description of the doctoral dissertation: written in German or English (5-10 pages; font size 12; line spacing 1.5), covering the main research topic of the proposed project, its scientific significance, the candidate's theoretical approach, and reasons for choosing the research topic. Include a timeline for the dissertation and a list of references;
The academic recommendation must be written by the academic supervisor.
Additional information
The program lasts for at least 3 semesters.
