News 26/02/2025 Issues of improving executive discipline and the quality of education were critically discussed

On February 25, 2025, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, Kongratbay Sharipov. It was attended by the heads of the central office of the ministry and organizations of the system.

At the meeting, topical issues related to the comprehensive development of the Uzbek State University of World Languages, the translation of foreign literature for universities, and performance discipline were discussed.

On the first issue, the state of performance discipline, the organization of the educational process, and the conduct of research work at the Uzbek State University of World Languages were critically analyzed. The report of the university leadership on the elimination of the identified shortcomings was heard. Due to the untimely fulfillment of the assigned tasks, a proposal was submitted to the Supervisory Board to issue reprimands to four vice-rectors of the university. The need to develop a "Roadmap" and "Target Indicators" for the comprehensive development of the university in 2025 was also noted.

Within the framework of improving the quality of education, it was noted that it is necessary to take measures to adapt 148 curricula to the programs of universities included in the TOP-300, to purchase 330 types of educational and scientific literature, to create 90 types of educational literature, and to create modern video lessons in 25 subjects.

The second issue - the processes of translating foreign literature for universities - was discussed. During 2024-2026, the purchase and translation of 177 foreign educational literature titles is planned, and officials are tasked with identifying problems in this area and developing proposals for their elimination. Instructions were also given to fully publish and deliver to higher educational institutions more than 120 publications in April-May 2024.

The third item on the agenda was related to executive discipline and control over instructions received by the ministry. It was emphasized that this issue is under daily control, and it is the personal responsibility of each manager to observe executive discipline. It was noted that the heads of departments, directorates, or departments must ensure the timely and high-quality execution of each assignment. Disciplinary action was taken against a number of employees of the ministry who demonstrated negligence in executive discipline.
