Academic leave may be granted to students of higher educational institutions of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the following cases:

2. To restore health;

3. For pregnancy and childbirth;

4. To care for children;

5. To care for a sick family member (father, mother or persons replacing them, spouse, child).

2. Can a student on a scholarship receive a scholarship during their academic leave?

No, he can't. According to the Regulation on the provision of academic leave to students of higher educational institutions of the Republic of Uzbekistan, scholarships are not paid to students during the period of academic leave.

3. What documents will need to be submitted to the university for academic leave?

According to the regulation, you will need to write an application to the head of the higher educational institution with an indication of the deadlines. Depending on the reasons for studying, the applicant is required to provide the following documents:

1. For military service (the relevant district or city defense bodies issue a summons to recall the student for military service)

2. A student taking leave to restore their health, give birth to a child, or care for their children will need to provide a conclusion from the medical institution where they are permanently registered

3. If taking leave to care for a family member, a conclusion from the medical institution where the sick family member is on permanent registration is required

4. Can a student's parents apply for a chronic illness?

Of course, it is possible, it is provided that the student is given academic leave based on the application of the parents of the student who left lessons for more than 1 month, who has a chronic illness, or the person replacing them, and the spouse. In this case, the beginning of academic leave is calculated from the day the student is unable to attend classes

5. How long will the application for academic leave be considered?

The regulation provides for the consideration of a student's application for academic leave within 1 week. The student's leave is issued by the order of the rector of the higher educational institution.

6. What should be done if the direction of study of the student is reduced during the academic leave period?

According to the regulation, if a student has completed the bachelor's degree in which he is studying during the period of academic leave, he can continue his studies by transferring to a related direction of the university where he studied, and if such a bachelor's degree is not available, he has the right to apply for the resumption of his studies in a non-related direction. This procedure also applies to the master's degree program.

7. What documents should be submitted to the university after returning from academic leave?

At the end of the academic leave, the student is required to apply to the rector of the higher educational institution to return to school.
