In order to increase the number of specialists in economics, diplomacy, and other global problems in Uzbekistan and internationally, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) was established by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. UP-474 of September 23, 1992. The University is considered a higher educational institution and a major research center in Uzbekistan that trains leading personnel in the field of international economic relations, international law, and international relations, and it is included in the system of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 

University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) in the following areas:

• International Economy and Management;
• International relations and political science;
• International Public and Private Law

It is a key higher education institution that ensures the training, retraining, and professional development of highly qualified personnel in its field. The faculty of the university consists of 160 people, of whom 17 are professors, 17 are doctors of science and 52 are candidates of science.

Currently, JIDU has 3 faculties:

• International relations;
• International Economy and Management;

International law. 

In addition, the university has 25 departments, a language center (with departments of world languages, French, German, and Uzbek); computer tests; "Ma'naviyat va ma'rifat" centers; Institute of Management; Department of Editing and Publishing; There are "Business World" and "Ziyokor" training centers, "Internet" club and legal clinic.

The university has a scientific library with 300,000 works. To improve the quality of education, professors and practicing specialists from foreign countries are regularly invited, and modern computer technologies are widely used.

In addition to studying here, you will be able to participate in meetings held at the University with employees of the UN, UNESCO, TASIS office in Tashkent, foreign statesmen, diplomats, representatives of embassies of foreign countries in Uzbekistan.

The campus of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) was established in 1992 to provide housing for students of the university and the lyceum under the university. This student dormitory consists of 2 buildings and is designed for 800 seats. Currently, there are 550 students living in TTJ.Contract payments at JIDU are set at 29 million 428 thousand soums for first-year students without a scholarship, 35 million 642 thousand soums with a scholarship, 23 million 740 thousand soums for students of the 2nd-4th year without a scholarship, and 31 million 814 thousand soums with a scholarship option. The master's degree is set at 27 million 216 thousand soums.

  According to the university press service, the price of the contract has not been increased since 2018. In 2023-2024, the cost of studying without a scholarship is set at 18 million soums for bachelor's degree and 21 million soums for master's degree.
