     The Tashkent Institute of Chemical Technology (TII) is one of the leading universities in Central Asia, specializing in the training of highly qualified specialists in chemical technology (organic and inorganic substances, polymers, silicate and refractory materials, chemical technology of rare and precious metals), food technology, oil and gas processing, ecology, biotechnology, ecology, cellulose and wood processing technology, and other areas.

    In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 203 of May 6, 1991, the Tashkent Chemical-Technological Institute was established on the basis of the faculties of chemical technology and engineering technology within the former Tashkent Polytechnic Institute.

    Currently, the institute has 5 faculties and 27 departments.

  • Faculty of Technologies for the Production of Fuel and Organic Compounds;
  • Faculty of Chemical Technology;
  • Faculty of Food Technology;
  • Faculty of Winemaking Technology and Industrial Viticulture;
  • Faculty of Management and Vocational Education.

   The institute trains personnel in the following specialties at the bachelor's, master's, and doctoral levels.

     The Tashkent Institute of Chemical Technology has 4 educational buildings with 3,755 seats, 1 student dormitory with 840 seats, 3 student kitchens, 2 buffets and 3 outdoor sports grounds, as well as 2 gyms. The number of student dormitories is 2, located at 3 Almachi Street, Mirzo Ulugbek District, Tashkent. This TTJ was built in 1972. It was renovated in 2014.

    According to the information provided to us by the press secretary of the institute, Egamnazar Abdulbakiyev, in order for students to spend their free time meaningfully, English and Russian language courses, sewing and sewing clubs for female students are operating in the TTJ. Five important initiative rooms put forward by the President were organized in the student dormitory, exhibition stands were purchased for 8,000,000 soums, musical instruments (doctor, rubab, doira, piano) for 5,200,000 soums, and a special wardrobe was purchased for 3,500,000 soums. Currently, 366 professors and teachers are teaching a total of 8,648 students.

      Over the past period, the institute has trained more than 10 thousand highly qualified engineers-technologists in the fields of chemistry, food, oil and gas, building materials and other sectors of the economy, more than a thousand bachelors and masters in 30 specialties. More than 50 doctors of science and 150 candidates of science were also trained based on the results of large-scale research conducted at the departments and research laboratories. Specialists who have studied at the institute are effectively working in many government organizations of our republic and some CIS countries, as well as in responsible positions in all sectors of production. Currently, the Tashkent Institute of Chemical Technology is one of the major key higher education institutions in the republic's higher education system, providing qualified personnel training.

   The employment rate of students who have graduated from higher education institutions is more than 90%.

   Currently, the institute has the following branches:

  • Shakhrisabz branch of Tashkent chemical-technological institute;
  • Yangiyer branch of Tashkent chemical-technological institute.

     The Tashkent Institute of Chemical Technology has established relations with a number of foreign universities. Specifically, the University of Mississippi in the United States, the Institute of Materials Structure in Italy, the University of Cantabria in Spain, the University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy in Sofia in Bulgaria, the Russian Chemical-Technological University named after D.I. Mendeleev, the Russian Oil and Gas University, the Kazan National Research Technological University, the Moscow Technological University, the Ivanovo State Chemical-Technological University, and the South Kazakhstan State University named after M. Avezov in Kazakhstan.

   Last year, 20 third-year students of the bachelor's degree program "Mechanics and Equipment of the Food Industry" underwent production practice at the Belarusian State Technological University.
