The Karshi branch of the Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi was established in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated June 2, 2005 No. PP-91 "On Improving the System of Personnel Training in the Field of Information Technologies" and the Order of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated June 14, 2005 No. 130.

The total land area of the branch is 88756.29 m2. There are 7 educational and auxiliary buildings, including 2 educational buildings, 1 student dormitory, 1 programmer training center, 1 canteen, and 2 additional workshops.

Today, the Karshi branch of the Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi has 2 faculties and 5 departments, where 81 professors and teachers work (on a permanent basis).
The branch provides training in 8 bachelor's degree programs and 3 master's degree specialties.

In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated February 19, 2018 No. UP-5349 "On Measures for Further Improvement of the Sphere of Information Technologies and Communications," a credit system for information training has been introduced at the Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi and all its branches, starting from the 2018-2019 academic year.

In the Karshi branch of the Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi, there are 7 computer rooms, 6 educational laboratory rooms, 18 rooms equipped with multimedia tools, a total of 56 classrooms, where classes are conducted using new pedagogical technologies and teaching methods.

A 400-bed student dormitory, planned for 2024 based on PPP, has been completed at the branch. The need for TTJ is fully met.
Two research laboratories have been established in the branch: the scientific laboratory "Computer Systems in Medicine" at the Department of "Computer Systems" for the kinetic and kinematic analysis of human movement, and the scientific laboratory "SPACECOM" at the Department of "Optical Communication Systems and Network Security" for the study of satellite communication systems. Scientific laboratories are usable and are now widely used in the educational process and scientific research. The scientific laboratory kits available at the branch are in good working order. Currently, work is underway to create two scientific laboratories - "PON Networks" and "Multimedia Technologies."

Over the past 3 years, 12 research works worth more than 530.4 million soums have been carried out at the Karshi branch of TUIT. Of these, 1 joint international project - 295.7 million soums, and 10 projects based on an economic contract - 84.7 million soums.
Cooperation relations have been established with foreign universities in the field of science and innovation. Including. Cooperation has been established with INTI University in Malaysia, Zilini University in Slovakia, Kazan Federal University, Osh University of Technology for advanced training and international internships for professors and teachers. In 2024, 4 professors and teachers improved their qualifications at these universities, and 2 master's students studied for 1 semester.

In addition, cooperation is being carried out with the Technical University of Berlin (Germany), Sorbonne University (France), Sofia Technical University (Bulgaria), Artesis Plantijn University College of Antwerp (AP Hogeschool Antwerp) (Belgium) in the implementation of foreign projects.
