To ensure the fulfillment of the tasks outlined in the Decrees of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PP-2909 of April 20, 2017, "On Measures to Further Develop the Higher Education System," and No. PP-3775 of June 5, 2018, "On Additional Measures to Improve the Quality of Education in Higher Educational Institutions and Ensure Their Active Participation in Large-Scale Reforms Undertaken in the Country," based on the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 488 of

  The Shahrisabz State Pedagogical Institute was established as an independent institution in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sh.M. Mirziyoyev "On measures to improve the quality of pedagogical education and further develop the activities of higher educational institutions training pedagogical personnel" signed on June 24, 2022.

   Today, the following 3 faculties operate at the Shakhrisabz State Pedagogical Institute:

• 1. Faculty of Languages;
• 2. Faculty of Social Sciences;
• 3. Faculty of Pedagogy.

 In the 2024-2025 academic year, 4,591 students are studying in 17 bachelor’s degree programs, 4,509 in 11 overtime programs, 251 in 17 evening programs, 189 in 11 master’s programs, and a total of 9,541 students are studying in 5 joint master’s programs.

  Currently, the institute trains specialists in the following areas at the bachelor’s and master’s levels:

Master's degree programs:

1. Theory and Methodology of Education and Upbringing (Preschool Education);

2. Pedagogical theory and history (by types of activity);

3. Methodology of teaching social and humanities sciences (history);

4. The theory and methodology of education and upbringing (primary education);

5. Methodology of teaching social and humanities sciences (fundamentals of spirituality);

6. Methods of teaching exact and natural sciences (mathematics);

7. Uzbek language and literature;

8. Russian in non-linguistic groups;

9. Theory and Methodology of Education and Upbringing (Technological Education).

   Currently, 9 doctors of science, 41 candidates of science and a doctor of philosophy are working at the institute. During 2024, a total of 14 scientific papers were defended, 12 of the teachers received the degree of Doctor of Philosophy, and 2 received the degree of Doctor of Science. At the same time, the affixation of the institute was formed in the Scopus database, and to date, the number of articles published in journals indexed in this database has reached 80.

  To apply students' theoretical knowledge in practice, there are 2 laboratory rooms for biology and physics.  It is equipped with modern equipment.

 The institute has signed cooperation agreements and exchange memorandums in the field of education and research with countries such as the USA, Germany, Kazakhstan, Russia (Kazan Federal University), Turkey, Ukraine and Tajikistan.
