   The independent Republic of Uzbekistan has gone through several stages of development during its glorious and glorious history, which can serve as an example for the world. In particular, it has achieved great success in a number of areas, such as economics, politics, science, education, sports, industry, agriculture. In particular, today the construction industry is developing at a steady pace in every region of our country.

  At the initiative of the First President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, I.A. Karimov, huge industrial enterprises, elegant and modern residential buildings, cultural and domestic facilities, monumental bridges and roads were built. To effectively implement this activity, there is a significant need for architects, builders, and engineers with deep knowledge in the field of architecture and construction, which necessitates the establishment of the Tashkent Institute of Architecture and Construction.

   Currently, the Tashkent Institute of Architecture and Construction, actively participating in this process, was established on the basis of the faculties of "Architecture," "Industrial and Civil Engineering," and "Engineering Construction" of Tashkent Polytechnic University in accordance with the decree of the First President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, I.A. Karimov, dated May 6, 1991. It should be noted that the Tashkent University of Architecture and Construction is considered a key higher education institution in the field of architecture and construction, and it has always taken the initiative in developing and implementing state educational standards, standard curricula, and subject programs for educational areas and specialties in the republic's higher education institutions.

   On November 8, 2022, the Tashkent Institute of Architecture and Construction was reorganized into a university specializing in engineering, architecture, construction, and building materials technology.

  Today, the university has 22 faculties in the fields of "Architecture," "Building and Structural Construction," "Engineering and Construction Infrastructure," and "Construction Management," with about 3958 bachelors in the fields of "Design," "Architecture," "Real Estate Expertise and Management," "Value Engineering," "Geodesy, Cartography and Cadastre," "Building and Structural Construction," "Building and Structural Construction and Installation Organization," "Hydraulic Construction”.

  

   Tashkent University of Architecture and Construction currently has the following faculties:

  • Engineering faculty;
  • Faculty of Technology;
  • Faculty of Architecture;
  • Faculty of Management.

  To date, the University has trained more than 35 thousand specialists in various fields, who are contributing to the staffing of the country's architecture, construction and other industries.

  To ensure that these personnel possess sufficient knowledge and are qualified specialists, it largely depends on professors and teachers who know their field and love their profession. The management of the institute pays serious attention to increasing the scientific potential of professors and teachers. The training of qualified teachers with academic degrees and academic titles from young personnel is at the center of attention of departments and deaneries. The Tashkent University of Architecture and Construction employs 343 professors and lecturers, including 23 doctors of science and professors Approximately 102 candidates and associate professors teach students. 36% of the institute's faculty hold academic degrees and academic titles.

   There are over 650 citations to works published by university faculty in the Web of Science, Scopus, and Google Scholar systems. Since the establishment of the university, more than 20 international conferences have been held on topical issues of training specialists in the field of architecture and construction.

  Currently, based on the requirements and needs in the field of construction, the Tashkent University of Architecture and Construction (TAKU) is training personnel in 22 bachelor's degree programs and 23 master's degree programs.

    A total of 3,646 admission quota places have been allocated for the 2023-2024 academic year at the Tashkent Architectural and Construction University, including: 3,300 places for bachelor's and 346 places for master's specialties. Of the 3300 places allocated for the bachelor's degree, 940 are for full-time, 350 are for part-time, 1050 are for evening, 490 are for full-time secondary and postgraduate higher education, and 245 are for part-time secondary and postgraduate higher education.

   Also, 47 places are allocated for recommendations of the command of the military unit, 5 places for women with 5 years of experience, 24 places for graduates of "Houses of Mercy" and "Children's Town" and 47 places for "Persons with Disabilities."

   University specialists will receive orders for the design of construction, public and residential buildings, determination of the earthquake resistance of buildings and structures, production of high-quality building materials based on man-made waste. The Institute's publishing and editorial department has published textbooks, teaching aids, monographs, and collections of scientific works.

  The Tashkent University of Architecture and Construction has concluded agreements with more than 20 leading institutes and universities of the CIS, Asia and Europe. Specifically, a total of 95 prestigious universities in foreign countries have established educational and scientific cooperation and cooperate with a number of prestigious higher education and research institutions of Germany, France, Italy, the Republic of Korea, the People's Republic of China, Malaysia, Japan, the Russian Federation, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, and Kazakhstan.

   The university has a number of international grants. In particular, projects of the Erasmus+ program are being implemented in cooperation with the Turin Polytechnic University in Italy, the Weimar-Bauhaus University in Germany, the Belostok Technical University in Poland, and the DAAD program in cooperation with the Potsdam University of Applied Sciences in Germany.

    Today, citizens of the CIS countries, Turkey, and Afghanistan are studying at the university in the fields of architecture, construction, and management.

    The university has a modern computer network connected to the Internet, an information resource center with an area of 1075.2 square meters for faculty and students, as well as a collection of 247,958 electronic books. The university has a sports complex "Pakhtakor" for sports, a dormitory for students from the regions, a kitchen in the main building of the university, and buffets in the faculties.
