Karshi State University (Karshi State University) is one of the largest and leading universities in Uzbekistan, holding a leading position in the educational market of the Southern region and supporting a global approach to education and research. The university is one of the multidisciplinary higher education institutions operating in a multi-level education system.

The university began its activities on September 1, 1945 as the Karshi branch of the Bukhara Unified Institute of Pedagogy and Teachers. On March 15, 1992, a presidential decree granted the status of Karshi State University. During this period, the educational institution trained more than 70 thousand qualified personnel for various sectors of the country.
Currently, the university has 13 faculties, 45 departments, 6 scientific councils, 1 scientific center, 9 scientific laboratories, and 25 training laboratories, with 65 undergraduate, 26 master's, and 27 doctoral specialties.

The library is a separate structural unit of the university, covering many areas of activity (educational, scientific, and spiritual-educational), and actively participates in the educational, scientific, and cultural processes of the university. The university publishes the newspaper "Karshi University" (since 1966) and the magazine "Nasaf Ziyo" (since 2004). Since 2001, a publishing center has been operating, which prepares monographs, textbooks, teaching and methodological materials for university professors.
The university is an active participant in international educational programs. Currently, the university has signed agreements and memorandums of understanding with more than 70 foreign educational institutions in the field of education and research.
KarSU is a member of a number of major international scientific and educational projects (Erasmus+, Erasmus Mundus, etc.). Currently, within the framework of the project on credit mobility of the Erasmus+ program of KarSU, cooperation agreements have been signed with Haen University in Spain, Konstantin University of Philosophy in Slovakia and Zelena Gora University in Poland.
According to the Concept of Development of the Higher Education System until 2030, the Faculty of International Educational Programs of the University, in cooperation with leading universities of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus, is training personnel in 6 bachelor's and 4 master's specialties.
